but what she does know for certain is that the thought of the unknown future is much less bleak when she knows, no matter what, that steve harrington is going to be a part of it. right by her side. even when she's a 14 hour drive ( or a 2 and a half hour flight ) away in boston, he'll still be in her careful view of what her future might look like. a permanent fixture, as far as she's concerned. because maybe plans are bullshit, but she's so tired of stopping herself from even feeling too happy, in the moment, in the right now, just because she's so scared of getting used to it when it can be taken away again so quickly. but steve makes her happy in a way she hasn't felt in a long, long time, and she wants to hold onto that for as long as she can.
so it doesn't really scare her, thinking about the future in that context. because it makes perfect sense that they'll end up living together, somewhere along the way. and the thought of it causes something to flutter around in her chest, make her smile in a way that's just shy of goofy. smitten. lovestruck. happy.
